Delcomar
Delcomar Navigation Company is a company born from the idea of a Sardinian entrepreneur, Dr. Franco Del Giudice, a deep connoisseur of the maritime transport systems to minor islands.
Founded in 1985, it activated its first night shipping services in 1998 in Carloforte, which did not exist before that time and has been operating in the three major Sardinian islands since then, both in regional subsidiary schemes and on the free market. It has a fleet of nine naval units, ENZO D. – ISLAND OF CAPRERA – ISLAND OF SANTO STEFANO – SARA D – GB CONTE – ANNA MUR – NANDO MURRAU, I. MADDALENA and ARBATAX, which offers its service between the ports of La Maddalena – Palau (north-east Sardinia), Asinara – Porto Torres (north-west Sardinia) and between Carloforte – Calasetta and Carloforte – Portovesme (south-east Sardinia).
Delcomar currently employs about 200 workers on board and on land: they are all Sardinian workers.
It has locations in Cagliari, Carloforte and La Maddalena.
The Company has developed over the years in a rational way, aiming to consolidate its structure with the means available, distinguishing itself for quality and guarantee of continuity in service, making itself appreciated by users and satisfying their needs. The company expects further expansion of the fleet and diversification of services by type of transport.
Delcomar has chosen to certify in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 9001: 2015 (Quality Management System) and UNI EN ISO 14001: 2015 (Environmental Management Systems) with the certification body RINA SERVICES S.P.A., accredited by ACCREDIA (Ente Accreditation).
The Quality Certification attests that the Company has organized its management and delivery of its services on the basis of compliance with nationally and internationally recognized rules to witness the company’s commitment to improvement and to achieve the full satisfaction of its Users.
The Environmental Management System Certification testifies that the Company constantly applies environmental management procedures that go beyond mere compliance with the law and are aimed at monitoring, preventing and improving all aspects of the Company’s activities that have an impact on the environment.
